New and established artists have demonstrated the immense diversity of
the scene, with music ranging from Bollywood soundtracks to Bhangra,
from Asian chill to Panjabi party music – not to mention the political and
musically charged sounds of some of the artists given the remix
treatment, and the occasional rare cut from the talented Panjabi MC,
State of Bengal, Karsh Kale, and many more.

As ever it is not a single musical vision that unites these artists but a
unique creative impulse arising from cultural plurality. In different ways
each artist tells their personal journey from traditional Asian influences to
a contemporary Western music culture.

The power of this creative energy resists being pigeonholed – dub, hip-
hop, jungle and other influences, are skillfully drawn into the mix by tech’d
up Asian producers.

By digging deep and wide, they have been able to bring us some future
classics to grace our subs and bodies to extend even further the purpose.
